Walking down Salem Street in Historic Downtown Apex is like traveling back in time.  Downtown Apex is a place to stroll, to browse, to hang out for a while and relax. The flags and banners down the street reflect the seasons, and the shop owners also have plants and colorful planters that add to the charming landscape.  It’s wonderful to have sidewalks on both sides of the street, in addition to the many benches and cafe seating.

Apex offers many choices in housing, but remains very much a homes, rather than a multifamily area. Here you can choose from among historic (and historic replica) houses and farms, or town homes and apartments.
